Gnaraloo Bay

14 October - On calmer days, stunning Gnaraloo Bay is the place to go. A 30 minute outback drive from 3 Mile Camp, through the sheep station and back to the coast.

Being at the southern end of the famous Ningaloo Reef, Gnaraloo has some near perfect hard coral. At the Bay you can “drift snorkel” across a good section of this. In places, the current makes for a dramatic experience. Saw a turtle here.
The beach itself is perfectly unpolluted, with only shells and dried marine vegetation littering the shore.

The dunes behind the beach are scorched and disorienting - you could easily get lost if it wasn’t for the noise of the surf to guide you back to the shore.

We had a lovely day at the Bay, snorkelling, fishing, exploring and relaxing.
